She used to run through the halls,
laughing loud, making mess on the walls.
Her shoes were always in the way,
and toys were scattered every day.
I remember braiding her hair,
while she told stories without a care.
She said she’d never grow too old,
but time, it moves fast and bold.
Now the room is quiet and still,
no more cartoons, no more spill.
She packed her bags just yesterday,
said “I’ll be fine, I’ll find my way.”
I smiled but my heart did ache,
this is a change I didn’t wanna make.
She’s strong, she’s smart, she’s brave and kind,
but I wish I could rewind the time.
The house feels bigger, but not in a good way,
I miss her voice, her jokes, her play.
But I know she’s chasing dreams so true,
and I’m proud of everything she do.
So go ahead, my little star,
shine your light, no matter how far.
Just don’t forget where you begun,
in this house, with love and fun.
